NEW MEMBERS

Germania keeps attracting new members of the highest character, Bro. Ken Bell was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason at the April 14th meeting. He has been around the lodge quite a bit since he was initiated helping with work parties, going to classes and even helping at the Deutsches Haus when the lodge sold food there. He has already proved to be a tremendous asset to us and I expect he will soon be one of our leaders.

Bro. Carl Mixon is a past master of Union Lodge, Bro Rod Tregle is a P.M. and  the current W.M. Both applied for plural membership in Germania and were accepted at the April 28 meeting. They have been working hard to keep Union Lodge going and have had some success. A number of brothers of Germania have joined Union Lodge to help them and they are now getting some new petitions of their own. The future looks much brighter for Union Lodge because of their, and a few others, hard work. We welcome all of these brothers to Germania Lodge.

SEVEN LODGE PICNIC

If you weren’t there for the picnic on Mother’s Day you really missed a first class event. The weather was cool and breezy and I estimate 150 people and kids showed up. It was hard to estimate because people kept coming and going all day. The food and fellowship was absolutely perfect.

Bro. Dave Marshal (Perfect Union) brought his pots and grills, Bro. Brandstetter (Germania) brought his barbeque tools… hmmmm I can see where this is going, I can’t possibly remember all that contributed, there were too many! Let’s just say that it was heartwarming to see everybody pitching in and enjoying each other’s company and recipes. There was a space walk for the kids, horseshoes for the adults. Bro. Sidney Agnelly who was raised in 1942 was there as was Bro. Albert Frederick Habeeb, Born, 11/3/14 and raised as a Master Mason on 5/19/36. No that isn’t a typo – 1936! Also present was Brother Stewart Armstutz, raised in 1941 and Bro. Sidney Agnelly who was raised in 1942. THAT’S OVER 200 YEARS of Masonic history and experience in three brothers. There were also many children present and they seemed to be everywhere. We are already planning on another picnic for 2011 with at least two other lodges interested.
