Comments: I never knew you all had a website,I'm not sure if yall had one a few years ago when my father was still living,He wasn't very computer literate anyway.
My father was a Mason as to whoever reads this has probally heard of him,you all had done a service for him at his funeral. It was a very nice thing.
I don't know,My father never pushed me or my 2 brothers toward joining the Masons. He had always told us that if we were interested he'd see about getting us in.But my problem was always how could you be interested in something you didn't know anything about.I've just learned more about the Masons & Germania Lodge visiting your web page than the 39 yrs. I knew my father.
Alot of the beliefs & faiths of the Mason's already tells alot of about myself.
Please send me any imfo.about the lodge
thanks again Al Martinez

Comments: I feel somewhat embarrassed to write to you under these circumstances, but hear me out. I am contacting you for the possibility of Masonic fellowship here in New Orleans. I am a fellowcraft with Whitestation- O.K.Houck, and I left Memphis in the summer of 1999 as I was divorcing my wife. I foolishly left just before receiving my 3rd degree, and have not had a steadily sustained enough employment history to keep up with my dues. So I am not in good standing, and neither do I have a patent. I am not contacting you for mercenary reasons, i.e., to try and network for a job (I am scheduled to enter nursing school in Spring of 2004), just to have some masonic contact. When I am on my feet financially, I plan to pay up my dues and visit Memphis to be raised. If you do not wish for me to attend rituals, I understand. I can give you the names and phone numbers of members of my lodge who can vouch for me. Even if we could only correspond by e-mail, I would greatly appreciate it. I come to you as a brother in search of more light. Here are the names and numbers of my contacts:

Thomas S. Aldridge - (901) 381-4084(h) (901) 382-4436(w)

W.D. "Woody" Woode, P.M.; Chaplain (as of 1999) - (901) 366-4087(h); He is very hard of hearing.

Doug Harris (901) 373-5837

J.O. Ray CPA (901) 323-9974

Thank you for your time. I trust your judgement; So Mote It Be.

Comments: Might y'all have records of members from decades ago? I was trying to research my grandfather as we don't have much info on him. I know he was a Mason, not sure what Lodge. He is buried in Masonic Cemetary at the foot of Canal Street. His name was Leo Randall Wertheimer. He was graduated from Tulane and was a lawyer locally there in N.O. He passed away in 1968. I would enjoy hearing from you if you have any records that he was a member of the Gremaina Lodge.

Thank you!
Greig

Comments: My great grandfather arrived in New Orleans June 4, 1836 and made his way to Beaver, Ohio. He returned to Germany in 1839 and married and then returned to the States that October. I assume he made all trips through New Orleans. I'm trying to locate any relatives that I might have in the New Orleans area. My great grandmother's maiden name was Jung and maybe some of her family stayed in your fair city instead of coming up river.
Portsmouth, Ohio is on the Ohio River, 100 miles east of Cincinnati. Beaver, Ohio is about 35 miles north of Portsmouth. If any of the brethern are into genealogy, please have them contact me.
I'm a member of Lucasville (Ohio) Blue Lodge #465; Life member of the Valley of Cincinnati; Worthy Patron of Lucasville OES; Senior Warden of Harry E. Sark Council 186 of the Allied Masonic Degrees; and my York Rite membership is here in Portsmouth.

Comments: Greetings from the Grand Lodge of Ohio. I'm a member of Lucasville Lodge # 465 of Lucasville, Ohio. I was doing some genealogy and found this website. My great grandfather landed in New Orleans on June 3, 1836 and he was through there again on his return back to Schwegenheim, Germany and again on his return to the States in 1839. My great grandfather's name was Johann Anton Munch and I was curious if you have or have had any members by that name.

Your site is interesting to me not only as a Mason but also due to the fact that my father-in-law was born in Germany. He was not a Mason nor are any of his sons even though I feel that they would make fine members.
I will be visiting New Orleans in November and may try to locate your lodge if time permits. Several of my wife's family will be departing on a cruise at that time.

According to the Times Picayune he received a Masonic burial. I was wondering if the Lodge maintains any old records from my G.G. Grandfather's time period? If so, I would like to make a request to view these records. My Grandfather, Fred R. Camp was a Shiner and member of Jerusalem Temple until his death in 1977. Any information would be of great help for the family history. Thank you again, Stephen Tobelman
